Welcome to the website for Marin’s First Supervisorial District. Through this site I can share with my constituents our priorities, what we are working on, and what we have accomplished.
It is vitally important to me to stay connected with my constituents and informed on what is important to you, and some of the ways to do that are through our monthly email newsletter, which is posted on this site, community meetings that I will attend at your invitation, and I am always accessible by telephone, email, or personal appointment. I also urge you to visit the Government Channel at www.co.marin.ca.us/G-Channel/Default.aspx, which is a great way for people who cannot attend meetings to stay current on matters coming to the Board of Supervisors and other policy-setting agencies, and to learn what the front burner issues are at any given time for the County of Marin. You can view webcasts of public meetings and have access to all documents submitted on agenda items, watch interviews with our key policy-makers on current issues, and get public health updates, to mention a few of our “greatest hits”.
As you will see on this site, I serve on many boards and commissions, some of which are local collaborative groups like the Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health Committee, and some which are regional planning and policy setting organizations (Association of Bay Area Governments), statewide (California State Association of Counties) and national (National Association of Counties). There are many Boards and Commissions that are advisory to the Board of Supervisors to which the members of the public can be appointed. Please check out the section on this website for vacancies if you are interested in applying to serve on a particular Board or Commission. There are also hundreds of different volunteer opportunities that might be of interest to you.
