CLINICAL SERVICES
The Division of Public Health supports a variety of services
that are provided by a network of local non-profit organizations and governmental
agencies throughout Marin County.
California Children's Services (CCS) Program
The CCS program provides diagnostic and treatment services, medical case management, and physical and occupational therapy services to children under age 21 with CCS-eligible medical conditions. Program staff can be reached at 899 Northgate Drive, Suite 415, San Rafael, 499-6877.

Child Health Disability Prevention (CHDP)
The Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) program provides complete health assessments for the early detection and prevention of disease and disabilities in children and youth. Health Care Program for Children in Foster Care (HCPCFC) is funded through CHDP and provides comprehensive health care, and documentation for youth placed in foster care system. Dental Services
The Dental Clinic provides complete restorative treatment under
the scope of general practice. Treatment needing a specialist may be referred
out to community providers. Eligible patients are county program recipients,
and others who are qualified for such services. Program staff can be reached

Detention Medical Services
Detention Medical Services provides medical and mental health services to people incarcerated in the County's Adult (13 Peter Behr Drive, San Rafael, 499-6291) and Juvenile Detention (16 Jeanette Prandi Way, San Rafael, 499-6719) facilities. It also provides support services for clients of the Helen Vine Detoxification Center (472-4964). Detention Health Services Manger may be reached at 499-7532.
HIV/AIDS Services Program & Specialty Clinic
The County of Marin HIV/AIDS Services Program provides a number of services to Marin County residents with HIV and Hepatitis C.
**Effective 10/10/08, the HIV Specialty Clinic will be moving to a new location at 3260 Kerner Blvd in San Rafael. It will re-open for services on 10/16/08. Clinic hours will remain unchanged.**
Free anonymous HIV testing and free confidential Hepatitis C (HCV) testing is offered. Please call 473-7515 for more information, including dates, times, and locations, and to schedule an appointment. Services are available in Spanish.
Partner Counseling and Referral Services are available. Please call 473-7468 for additional information.
The Specialty Clinic is a multidisciplinary medical clinic providing primary HIV medical care, mental health, medical social work and case management services, nutritional counseling, and access to clinical trials. It also provides consultative Hepatitis C (HCV) medical care to Marin County residents. Services are available in Spanish. The Specialty Clinic is located at 3260 Kerner Blvd, San Rafael, CA 94901. Public Health Laboratory Services
The Public Health Laboratory provides testing for clients of
all county HHS programs, detention facilities and Marin Community Clinic. Testing
is also performed for Rabies Control, and in support of county Environmental
Health Services investigators The scope of services includes bacteriology, mycobacteriology,
mycology, parasitology, virology, serology, water and food microbiology, as
well as urinalysis, hematocrit, darkfield microscopy, and urine pregnancy testing.
State of the art (Ligase Chain Reaction) is employed for chlamydia and gonorrhea
testing. Herpes typing serology was recently added to the test menu. Tick identification,
water microbiology testing, and pregnancy testing may be requested by the client.
All other laboratory tests must be ordered by a medical provider. Laboratory
phone: (415) 499-6849. Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. After-hours
laboratory emergencies: Phone the Marin County Communication Center at (415) 499-9464.
To report an animal bite, phone the Marin Humane Society at
(415) 883-4621. Eligibility: Medi-Cal, MediCare, CHDP, some private insurance,
and fee for service accepted.
Public Health Nursing
Public Health Nursing Services provide high risk infant follow-up, health education, senior health programs, Southeast Asian case management services, counseling and information on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and education and assessment on childhood lead poisoning, and communicable disease information, reporting and follow-up. Public Health Nursing - Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention
Program
Marin County Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) works towards eliminating childhood lead poisoning by raising awareness of lead poisoning among residents and child caregivers, working with healthcare providers to increase screening and early detection of elevated blood lead levels, and advocating for lead-safe environment for the children of Marin. Public Health Nursing - Immunization
Childhood, adult and travel immunizations, and tuberculin skin tests are provided at low or no cost. Adverse reactions to immunizations should be reported by telephone call to (415) 473-6891. For additional information please call (415) 473-6888.

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic
As the medical component of the STD Prevention and Control
Program, the clinic provides confidential services to clients,
including: testing for STD's, diagnosis, treatment, examination, counseling/case
management, partner follow-up, and certain family planning services (FPACT Program).
All services are provided at the Public Health Clinic and Laboratory. Appointments
are not required; however, we are only able to provide services to a limited
number of clients each day. We encourage you to arrive before the start of clinic.

Services are free for anyone under 18 years of age. The 18
and older fee is $20.00 (re-visit fee of $15.00 if seen less than 1 month earlier).
NO ONE WILL BE DENIED TREATMENT because of inability to pay. Testing includes:
Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphllis, herpes culture (if sores are present) and HIV
(optional). A genital examination will be performed to check for genital warts
(HPV), rash, or other STD-related lesions, to assess and evaluate symptoms described
by the client. Additional testing is offered (for clients seen at the STD clinic)
for a fee, including: Herpes Type II blood test ($35.00 - must be paid at the
time of visit); Pap ($12.00); Urinalysis ($4.00). Note: Women who are menstruating
are asked to return after menstruation is completed, but please call as needed.
Forms of payment accepted for services include: cash, personal check, credit card/debit card (Visa, MasterCard only), Medi-Cal, CMSP, Medicare/Medicaid, and Health Access Program (teal F-PACT card). Eligibility screening will be provided for those qualifying for F-PACT services at our clinic.

Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic
As the clinical component of the Tuberculosis Prevention and
Control Program, services include tuberculosis screening: evaluation, diagnosis
and treatment of active cases; and preventive treatment. Directly observed therapy

Women's Health Services/Gynecology
The Gynecology/Family Planning Program of Women's Health Services provides a full range of reproductive and adolescent health services, gynecologic assessment and treatment, health outreach and counseling, and education to primarily low-income families. Women's Health Services/Maternity
The Maternity Program of Women's Health Services is
a full-scope medical practice providing maternity services for low-income and
high-risk women, including the provision of antenatal, intra-partum, and postpartum
